Sony takes advantage of opening the doors of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to begin his press conference. On this occasion, the Japanese manufacturer is back on its tablet Xperia Z whose characteristics have already been announced in late January.
The conference was introduced by Kunimasa Suzuki, President and CEO of Sony Mobile Communications who has quickly been replaced by Kazuo Hirai, President and CEO of Sony Corporation.

Finally, as might be expected, Sony officially introduced its Tablet Xperia Z hammering that fact that it includes all items of the strengths of the Xperia Z (smartphone) put forward in the first part of conference.
The next Sony Tablet is advertised as being the thinnest tablet in the world, it does not measure more than 6.9 mm thick. It will be equipped with a Full HD screen of 10.1 inches and weigh less than 500 grams. In addition, like the Xperia Z, tablet Xperia Z will also be waterproof (IP55 & IP57).
When it comes to other tablet Xperia Z characteristics will be equipped with a Qualcomm S4 Pro quad-core, and will be hosted by Android in unspecified version, but Jelly Bean should be in the game.
When it comes to video/photo capabilities it will be provided by a sensor 8-megapixel “Exmor R” while video conversations will operate through a front 2-megapixel Webcam. Storage is provided by the 64 GB memory expandable via micro SD card. The Tablet Xperia Z will be available in black or white versions in the second quarter of 2013. Xperia: Sony new software
Besides the announcement of the Xperia Z tablet, Sony introduced some news softwares that will come alongside with new devices. These softwares will be published shortly on the Play Store.
The first softwares come in the form of an EPG (Electronic Program Guide). It will automatically push content to a compatible TV by simply selecting a program in the schedule. The tool is also equipped with features such as remote control to turn off or turn on the TV. Even if Sony was evasive on the subject, it is assumed that the user will need to have Sony TV in order to enjoy this delicacy.
In addition, photo gallery acquires a tool that takes the form of Google Earth (Earth 3D) display all geotagged photos.
Finally, after this summer, Sony will release a new version of the famous application “walkman” (music player on Android). The latter will integrate many radios categorized by genres, which inevitably reminds on Nokia Music. It will also support the NFC speakers and headphones for easy Bluetooth pairing.
