After presenting the Ascend D2 at CES in Las Vegas, Huawei is preparing to unveil a new handset, the Ascend P2. This successor of P1 that could be announced at Mobile World Congress in late February.
Chinese manufacturer Huawei has the wind in its sails and will not stop to make new Android smartphones with ambitious characteristics. According to early rumors, Ascend P2 could be quite close to the D2 presented in early January. Ascend D2 will have a 13 megapixel rear photo sensor and 1.3 megapixel front, a quad-core processor clocked 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 8 GB of storage space, 6.45 mm thick and a 3000 mAh battery. The shade could be on the side of the screen, since P2 propose a diagonal of 4.5 inches instead of 5 which we had at D2. Nevertheless, 1080p still seems as possible options, as Android 4.1.
The Ascend P2 is not advertised as being impervious to dust and water, as is the case for Ascend D2: a difference that is not unlike that between Xperia Z and the ZL by Sony also unveiled recently. We should probably wait for the MWC for confirmation about this smartphone, which has many more secrets.
