To shut it, simply go to your home screen; double click on the Home Button. This will show up all the apps that you recently worked on. Press and continue to hold the app that you wish to close. Once it starts wiggling, press the app’s red badge and the app is no longer active.

Working with Siri

To activate Siri, the digital voice assistant, you must press and for a few seconds hold the home button. This will bring up the microphone on your screen. If you are new to Siri, all you need to do is press ‘i’ when the microphone shows up on your screen.

Just below the notification section you will come across the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature. You can use this feature the smart way and save the battery life of your iPhone 5. You can manage the kind of notifications you wish to receive so that your phone’s screen is not turned on all the time. You can turn off the ‘View Lock Screen’ feature for notifications that you do not wish to receive from certain apps.
