// CES 2013 – Iconia Tab B1-A71: Acer 7-inch Tablet Running Android 4.1

At CES in Las Vegas Acer will unveil its tablet Iconia Tab B1-A71, a 7-inch model, running Android 4.1 aka Jelly Bean and price of around $120.

The rumor of a 7-inch tablet had been circulating for a few days and Acer has therefore formalize it. It is powered by MediaTek dual-core SoC with two ARM Cortex-A9 cores running at 1.2 GHz. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is operating which will be installed on this device. Here are the specifications of the beast announced by the manufacturer:

  • 7-inch screen (1024 x 600 pixels)
  • Mediatek SoC MTK8317@1.2GHz
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • 8GB of storage
  • MicroSDHC card reader (up to 32GB additional)
  • Webcam 0.3 megapixel front
  • Wi-Fi 802.11n
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • GPS
  • 3.5 mm jack for headphones combo and micro
  • 2710 mAh battery
  • Micro USB port 2.0
  • Weight: 320 grams
  • Dimensions: 197.4 x 128.5 x 11.3 mm

As you can see above, the manufacturer does not mention the type of slab which will be used for the screen, which makes us think that we may end up with TN who’s viewing angles are particularly limited. We asked manufacturer for confirmation who is currently fairly reachable.

Unlike the Iconia Tab A110 which was announced overseas and never released in Europe, this time Acer will most likely offer this device to European market too, while the availability would be expected from this month.
